Transactions are complex irrespective of the headline dollars. The benefit of engaging with me to support you in your transaction: I've done it before and use that experience to get your deal done efficiently and on commercial terms you understand and agree with. I can do this because I understand deals - the participants, incentives and trade-offs, timelines, process - and how the company moves forward after the deal closes. From identifying opportunities to negotiating and closing a transaction to post-closing integration, I can manage a transaction and participants as seamlessly as a conductor manages an orchestra.
I founded STACCS to provide strategic advice and transaction support to companies and investors as they execute on growth and liquidity opportunities. As a technology executive, board member, and deal maker, I combine technical, financial, legal, and regulatory expertise with excellent judgment and decades of experience gained from sitting on boards, advising dozens of executives and investors, and executing hundreds of transactions across stages, industries, and geographies.

About Me
I use my expertise with transactions, technology companies, cybersecurity, regulatory requirements to provide strategic advice to boards and management teams who are executing transactions and operational initiatives. I also work with senior executives to build robust compliance programs that balance strategic imperatives and operational realities with the goal of protecting the organization and the individuals.
While the specifics of each merger, acquisition, sale, recapitalization, or equity raise are different, I advise executives and investors as they navigate their process and transaction based on decades of experience with hundreds of transactions as an executive, investor, board member and advisor. I help leaders make informed decisions by explaining the implications and potential unintended consequences of those decisions throughout the process. I also help them manage expectations, participants, and timelines and I am an expert at translating legal documents and tech jargon into understandable context and concrete actionable alternatives.
Prior to founding STACCS, I was a partner, as well as general counsel and chief compliance officer JMI Equity, a growth equity firm focused on investing in leading software companies. I was brought in to lead deal structuring and execution and SEC registration and I led structuring and execution of 75+ investments for international enterprise software and technology enabled services companies with valuations from <$50M to $10B+. On the sell-side, I structured and led more than 50 successful exits for JMI Equity portfolio companies. I also partnered with executive leadership at the firm, deal teams and portfolio companies to execute growth and operational initiatives, follow-on acquisitions and c-suite talent identification, recruitment, and retention.
Prior to JMI, I advised public and private boards as a partner in the technology companies and private equity groups at Goodwin, a Global 50 law firm with 1,800+ lawyers. I hold a JD from Stanford Law School and bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
I currently serve on several boards, as the Vice Chair of IU Ventures (Indiana University’s 501(c)3 arm dedicated to empowering Indiana University faculty, students, alumni, and friends to support and invest in IU-affiliated innovation. Serves on Investment, Finance and Audit, and Executive committees), and as a lecturer at Boston University School of Law.
